A good song for a good cause! | Thu Dec 11, 2008 7:27 am by Mr.Killerguitar | Serj Tankian is fighting for the human rights. This is nothing new to the hardcore fans of him. So it is nothing surprising that he is an active, I might even say very active, member of Amnesty International.
To the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights AI started a big campaign, the Global Write - A - Thon Campaign.
Serj himself donated a song to that campaign: Fears.
You can listen to that song on AI's site
To the cause itself Serj told Amnesty International:
"Amnesty International's and its members' strengths have been the …

Serj is still open for Fun | Sun Jun 15, 2008 7:38 am by Mr.Killerguitar | Despite many rumors that Serj is becoming a lame media whore he prooved that he can still be the good ol' Serj. The latest appearing of his song Lie, Lie, Lie as the theme song of NBC's "Fear Itself" made many Fans doubt that Serj is himself still believing what he said through the last 10 years. Maybe it's right and he's drifting to something we all never wanted to see, but in fact, he can, at least, still be funny.
Durin the German festival Rock am Ring he gave, like many other artists, an interview to MTV. In that interview he played a small song on a very unawaited instrument. I have no clue where he got it, but well, take a …

Serj Tankian has launched two websites dealing with political and social issues.
The two sites are electthedead.com and skyisover.net. Electthedead is the political site, concentrating on elimination of the Electoral College, caps on corporate contributions to candidates, tax reform, instant runoff voting during elections, and the abolishment of Washington D.C.'s "K Street" lobbying firms.
The site shares the name of Tankian's recently released solo album.
Skyisover.net is an environmental site, linking to organizations such as Greenpeace …

Let's revolutionize our democracy | Sun Mar 02, 2008 5:01 am by Mr.Killerguitar | With electthedead.com (you may argue if the name fits) Serj Tankian presents now -and maybe for the first time this clear- his view about today's politic by publishing five points he wants to change in the US now.
If you agree with his ideas you can support him by filling out a form and let them send your "vote" to the United States Congress. Of course you have to be US citizen.
Here are his five ideas:
1. GET RID OF THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE - Who are these guys anyway?
The Electoral College was set up by our forefathers as a convenient way of reversing the popular votes of earlier immigrant settlers who were in lots …
